A:    Opportunity, Quality, Fun

#2: What drew you to become a part of Rio Rapids Board of Directors?

A:    A desire (and request) to help professionalize the organization to help ensure longevity and continuity of the club.

#3: What is your favorite part about Being on the Rio Rapids Board of Directors?

A:    Getting to know the other directors and understanding the complexity of this club.

#4: What is your role on the Board?

A:    General Counsel. Also, I sit on the Executive and Human Resources Committees.

Personal:

A:    First = Lionel Richie (Pointer Sisters opened — probably ’84, Jackson, Mississippi) Most Recent = Swervedriver (Failure opened — ’19, Portland, Oregon)

#2: Any favorite line from a movie?

A:    “No one is really going to be free until nerd persecution ends.” Gilbert, Revenge of the Nerds

#3: Best vacation you’ve been to?

A:    Northeastern Brazil, João Pessoa and environs, to visit friends, with my wife and kids last year.

#4: What books are at your bedside?

A:    Currently: Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki (and his years of pilgrimage), Haruki Murakami (Philip Gabriel translation); Diary of an Oxygen Thief, Anonymous; Lake Success, Gary Shteyngart

#5: What do you like most about Rio Rapids ?

A:    The opportunities it provides players to play in multiple leagues, top-level tournaments, and in two Development Academies.

#6: What has been the most important innovation you have witnessed in your lifetime?

A:    The internet

#7: What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years?

A:   Time moves quickly. Don’t forget to make time for the people you love.

A:   It used to be Scalo. I’m still looking for a new one.

A:    Albuquerque’s pretty great. Other than that, I’ve been a lot of cool places. It’s hard to pick a favorite.
