Rrsc us nm soccer referee shortage

 US Soccer Referee Program
Special Message

We are in the midst of a historic referee shortage here in NM. Our referee pools have dwindled to an all-time low. Our current referee shortage means that your upcoming games may not have full coverage. We need your help to have a successful soccer season for our kids.

Step up and become a referee! Refereeing is a great way to learn more about the game, stay active AND earn extra money. Referee game fees average to between $20-$40 per hour (and sometimes more). Referees can set their own schedule around other activities and commitments. Referees can even ask to be scheduled around their team’s game for that day. The process to become a referee is all online and can be completed at any time day or night.
Always respect the referees! Even if you do not like the calls that are being made, it is inappropriate to yell at the game officials. Referees are human and may see a situation differently than you or may not have seen an incident at all.
Please do your part and certify as a referee by following the steps below.

a. Read the basic steps and Instructions for Certification here: http://www.nmsra.org/2022_Clinics_Intro.pdf

b. Register and complete the Course using this link: https://learning.ussoccer.com/referee/courses/available/6/details/3430

If needed here is a step-by-step guide on how to certify and to navigate the new learning system: http://www.nmsra.org/How_to_Sign_Up_and_Log_In.pdf

We cannot have a successful league without your help so please consider becoming a referee.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!

Sincerely,

Michael Edgar Posen
